Plaster of Paris - MADE IN THAILAND (Superfine)
Pottery Green is a beta hemihydrate plaster (CaSO4.½H2O) produced from naturally occurring gypsum mineral. This product is used in the compositions of binders, cement-based mortars, adhesives and plaster-based wall finishing products. It can also be used in slip casting of Sanitaryware.
Plaster of Paris is used in postoperative immobilization and also in the management of some amputees. Casting over stumps has allowed immediate rehabilitation using prosthesis. POP was used in the immediate management of Open fractures until the evolution of external fixator.
Type I gypsums are dental plasters for impressions. This type is also referred to as plaster of Paris and is used in impression making. They consist of fine-ground natural gypsums with all impurities removed.
Does not generally shrink or crack when dry, making it an excellent medium for casting molds.
- Used for finished products such as chalk, figurines and wall cornices, and as molds for candles.
- Plaster is also used as “backing” support for silicone rubber molds.
- Safe and non-toxic for children to use (e.g. handprint projects).
It is commonly used for:
• Modelling - to precast and hold parts of ornamental plasterwork placed on ceilings and cornices.
- It is also used in medicine to make plaster casts to immobilize broken bones while they heal.
• Sculpting - applied to wood panels, plaster, stone, or canvas to provide the ground for tempera and oil painting
